2002, Color, 90 mins / in Mandarin with English subtitles

Set against the backdrop of the mountains and the great plateau of Tibet; this film is a love story between a military commander and a female soldier during the 1950 march by the PLA into Tibet. The film focuses on the life of the soldiers who built the roads and extended the reach of the newly founded People's Republic of China. It chronicles the hardships of the time while presenting the hope, enthusiasm and patriotism of the soldiers of the new China.
