	Life Along Misty River Color, 90 min, 1996
	Magnificent drama depicting life along the Misty River in the early 20th century. Sensitive performances, beautifully shot, well developed plotlines. The movie is adapted from Shen Congwen's novel. It narrates the fates of a group of prostitutes who lived on the river in the west of Hunan province. It also gives us a peek of the folk customs of the society along the river during that period.

	Super example of a popular comedy team using the comedic art of double talk, mid 1980s. A fast paced comedy about middle-class life and values in China.
	True Hero Color, 90 min, 1989
	This film is an exciting fast paced Kung Fu action comedy focusing on the revolt during the Qing Dynasty. A simple merchant is mistaken as a hero of the revolution. This perception is fostered by the real hero leading to very comedic situations. At the same time the film is a poignant drama about an important moment in Chinese history depicting circumstances around the fall of the Qing Dynasty.

		A complicated Kung Fu action drama with the touch of old west. A selfish father forces a maid to marry his retarted son. When her lover tries to save her, he is shot after a wild struggle and buried alive. He survives to return as an accomplished gunfighter taking his revenge on the whole family.

		A charming village pied piper story. This well directed drama explores the conflict between the simple traditional values of one brother against the older brother's need to succeed. A good example of simple village life in changing times.

		Green Bamboo Mountains Color, 90 min, 1982
		Exquisite love story of village life just after liberation. A conflict between traditional values. Limei is in love with Li Shangyou and he is in love with her. The trouble is he's poor and her father has chosen someone for her who can giver her a better life. This is the traditional role of a father in China which conflicts with the new values. Sensational photography with wonderful sensitive performances.

		Kung Fu historical action comedy chock full of incredible stunts. The Demon Emperor Cheng Yaojin began as a simple fun loving roustabout, valuing his freedom above everything. He is forced to defend his freedom by a violent, self-indulgent ruler. Great fun!!!

		Political drama circa 1940's. A kidnapping escalates into intense political intrigue. As China undergoes political change, the existing political power is willing to use any method to keep this power. Extortion, murder and kidnapping is the order of the day.
		Boundless Snow Endless Grief Color, 90 min, 1993
		A Kung Fu action film with intense villains and magic. In the Ming Dynasty, during Wanli period, the emperor devised a method for ruling his territories beyong the Great Wall. He sent letters with his seal declaring that anyone possessing one of the letters would be lord of that area. Naturally there was a vicious struggle for possession of these valuable edicts.

		Just another great classic Chinese film focusing on village life. In this case a village specializing in growing tea. Beautiful cinematography and uplifting performances. The story focuses on the merging between the old ways and the new helping us understand the subtleties of the changes taking place in China. We even get to understand a little about the importance of tea. A well written, well directed love story about relationships within relationships.
		Blood and Tears Color, 90 min, 1989
		Great Kung Fu action drama. Twins tragically separated at birth find themselves facing each other on opposite sides. One raised by his mother is a revolutionary hero fighting for China's freedom. The other is a singer raised by an opera troupe who find himself working for his father's killer and his brother's enemy, forcing them to face off against each other.

		Spy drama focusing on life in the foreign concessions in Shanghai durring the Japanese occupationthe in the mid 1930s. These foreign concessions in Shanghai were immune to Japanese aggression and a breeding ground for many patriotic Chinese youths bent on freeing Shanghai and China. Of course, this led to a bloody life and death struggling between the hunters and the hunted.
